>>> Read my story and read the report on the junk engines.
Greg Slayton from www.oceanmarineengines.com and formally and
deltaperformancemarine.com is a scammer. He paints second hand junk motors and ships them as fully re-manufactured engines and offers warranties that he does not honor. The Secret Service are investigating him in Georgia Atlanta. He has many victims alleging they have been given deficient parts or junk engines. For the contact at the Secret Service, email me, one of his Victims (Matthew Gilligan for Group FS Limited) , whom purchased these engines in the report link attached as fully re-manufactured, but upon arrival one was seized (would not even turnover with a 6 foot bar cranking the flywheel with a 200lb man standing on it) and both were completely worn out. (But beautifully painted.)

Image of supposedly “Fully Re-manufactured” C7 Cat engines, – in fact old 3126b series junk motors, sold with a paint job and new stickers as new motors. A total scam.
Greg Slayton was bankrupt in 2013 when he sold these motors to my company, trading through an LLC called Ocean Marine Engines. It’s too expensive to sue him and he is bankrupt anyway, so no one bothers going to court.
If you have been scammed by Slayton, email me and I will publish your story.
If you need the Secret Service agent contact who is prosecuting him, let me know and I will introduce you.
Additionally, I am compiling a list of names of affected parties to join a class action. Email me if you are interested in participating.
My intention in putting this site up is to warn the international boating community, that I along with many others have been taken advantage of and scammed by Greg Slayton. I hope this helps you in making a decision over dealing with him.
My story is written below and you are welcome to view contracts and emails to and from Slayton (if you are interested) – its an open book. Just ask.

I saw Slayton’s fantastic website and the pretty pictures of all the engines he sells. I contacted him and found him knowledgeable and genuine in his approach. He seemed like a mechanic with good knowledge and great supply contacts and reasonable prices. He quoted me re-manufactured C 7 Cats at 500hp and new transmissions, gauges, a dash panel and a few minor items, and dual Control units. I accepted his quote and paid in full in advance.
The engines were delayed in shipping. Many plausible excuses were tendered. Eventually the motors arrived with the transmissions and controls. But they were not C7s, they were old 3126 B Cats with new paint. They were junk – unusable motors. There were no cables for the controls, which cost me $4,000 to have made up in NZ despite paying Slayton for them. He failed to make the dash panel, he never shipped the gauges. The engine mounts were absurdly large, and unusable, and there were only 7 of them, (I paid for 8). The transmission plate to the motors were gas axed to fit to the motors. They looked terrible.
But then it turned out that the motors were old junk used engines, with a new paint job. One was seized, the other had no compression on one cylinder and low compression across the others. A turbo was seized on that engine. Slayton denied it, and tried to blame me, which was absurd. Then he said Ransome Cat, who he says sold him the engines, were to blame. Then he said someone must have switched them at his shop before they shipped the motors. Then he said the motors were fine and he did not believe me as they were running on a dyno in his shop, but when you read the Dyno reports they don’t match the engines.
He then promised to make it right, the motors were in warranty etc, and asked me for reports from Caterpillar New Zealand, which at great expense I procured, having the motors shipped to a Cat Dealer have having them inspected. The report revealing the shocking state of the motors is attached. Check out for yourself what the motors looked like and how bad they were inside. One of my mechanics speculates that they are not a matched pair, they are worn out junk engines with the computers switched on to them. One has had sand and water through the inlet valve.
Others with Similar Stories
I have become aware through sites like www.thehulltruth.com (click here for one thread that I started but also search on the site for “Greg Slayton” or his company names for more), that Greg Slayton allegedly has done this to hundreds of people.
I spoke to a reputable and well respected US West Coast engine supplier that knows 15 confirmed cases of Slayton customers scammed like this, who all have similar stories to mine.
One guy scammed was a fisherman, who got a bank loan to re-power his motors in the off season. He gave Slayton the money and Slayton sent him broke, because his boat was dead in the water and the engines he received were in worse repair than his original motors, which was true for me as well. The fisherman lost his business and all his employees lost their jobs.
The Secret Service said to me they have 10-15 live cases but believe there are potentially hundreds of people affected from all over the world.
